Updates!!!
Ah! So much has happened since I last wrote on here. First and foremost, I got to see the lima bean’s heart beating on September 6th! Clear as day there was a patch of black fuzz with a heart beating in the middle of it and I could hear it pumping away at 150 beat a minute, very cool!
Otherwise, we have just continued to tell people as the opportunities present themselves. We have told my grandparents and more friends and some co-workers. Everyone seems to be very excited and supportive of us which is so wonderful.
I made an interesting discovery today. My cousin, Ruth Bonaparte, emailed me the latest version of the power family tree and I realized, for the first time, that this baby will be the first member of the 7th generation of the Power family in America! And, unless I’ve forgotten something, the first of the next generation of Jackson’s. Which, I happen to think, is very interesting and sort of, I don’t know, important. Just another reason to be extremely happy and excited for the arrival of the lima bean!
The sickness seems to be waning away. Mostly, I think, it is because I spend a great deal of time now eating to keep something in my stomach. I’m rediscovering all the snack foods of my youth: granola bars, graham crackers, cheez-its, string cheese, etc…. Whatever I can do to keep the hunger and the nausea at bay!
Well, on Friday the lima bean will turn 10 weeks old! That means it has graduated from embryo to fetus! My, my, it is getting real!

Suzanne made me fresh lima beans the other night--they're really good. They're better than edamame bean thingos.
